Download Files
The ECI enables you to download files from the
Tax Office.
To download a file (eg ACK, SPAD or MAFR) perform the following steps:
- Select Check Status/Receive from the
Superannuation menu. Select Update Status
button, the ECI will contact the ECI server to retrieve the current
status. If the ECI is not connected to the ECI Server, a Connect to ATO
dialog box will display. New ACK and SPAD files are marked Available
in the Status column of the Check Status/Receive window.
- Select the file to download.
- Click on the [Get File] button. The Download
File dialog box displays.
- Click on the [Download] button to begin
the file transfer. The Save File Dialog Box is displayed
- Enter a file name and location. The File
Transfer Status dialog box displays. When the file transfer
is complete a File Transfer Complete dialog box displays.
This box carries a warning that the file is only available for re-downloading
for a set period of time. After the retention period has elapsed, files
are Archived and are not available for re-download. For further

NB
If you have specified that you wish to keep both
secured and unsecured files (for non-repudiation purposes) you will need
to provide a file name and location for the secured file. For further
information, see System Configuration.
Read Files
The ECI enables you to read files/messages from the Tax Office.
To read a message or a file perform the following
steps:
- Select Check Status/Receive from the
Superannuation menu. Select Update Status
button, the ECI will contact the ECI server to retrieve the current
status. If the ECI is not connected to the ECI Server, a Connect to ATO dialog box will display. New messages are
marked Available in the Status column of the Check
Status/Receive window.
- Select the message or file to read.
- Click on the [Read] button. The message/file
displays in a Notepad
window. Normal Notepad functionality lets you save or print the message.
NB
Once a message/file has been read, it will only available for re-reading
for another 7 days
