System Configuration
Clicking on the (Settings) tab while a Superannuation business function is selected (e.g. select Reasonable Benefit Limits,
under the Super Funds menu), then
click on the (Settings) tab, the resulting Settings dialog
box permits
specific Network settings, Application Update and Superannuation
settings to be altered.
Network tab
The (Network) tab enables the ECI to be configured
to use a proxy server. (A proxy server is the interface between an internal
network and the Internet; many businesses do not use proxy servers)
To configure the ECI for your proxy server:
- Select the Yes option for Proxy Server Required?
- Type your Proxy Server Address and Proxy Port
number. The default port number is 80. If you are unsure of this information,
ask your system administrator.
- Select the appropriate option for Proxy Logon
required? (i.e. do users have to type in a password to access the Internet?)
- Click on the [Save] button.
Application Update tab
The (Application Update) tab enables early ECI Client
Software application updates to occur when clicking on a Business function
An active internet session is required for this function to work.
NB: If this option is not selected, the ECI Client
software application update checks will still occur when receiving or
sending files to the Tax Office
Superannuation tab
The (Superannuation) tab displays the
following default settings:
- Error Log Filename textbox – the
location and name of the file that stores file error details
- Maximum Error Count – the number
of errors that will be found before the ECI stops validating a file.
The user can change the defaults. The ECI does not have to be re-started for any
changes to take effect. Simply click on the [Save] button to apply the changes.

Clicking on the (Settings) tab
while a Superannuation business function e.g. Send/Check file type is
selected , then click on the (Settings) tab, the resulting Settings
dialog box permits specific Network settings, Application Update &
Superannuation settings to be altered.
Check Status/Receive Settings:
Clicking on the (Settings) tab
while Superannuation business function Check Status/Receive is selected,
the resulting Settings
dialog box permits
specific Network settings, Application Update and Superannuation
settings to be altered.
Superannuation tab
The Superannuation tab displays two additional
tabs Sent Items/ Retrieved Items
The Sent Items tab permits
the selection or deselection of the file types required to be checked

The Retrieved Items tab permits
the selection/de selection of file types available to be read/downloaded.
It displays the default settings for:
- Download File Directory –
the location of files downloaded from the Tax Office
- Save Secure Files?
– Gives the option to save a file with the Authentication details
in encrypted format. The actual content of the file will be in text
format.

Clicking on the (Settings) tab while a Superannuation
business function Check/Status Receive is selected, then click on the (Settings) tab.
Simply click on the [Save] button to apply the changes |
